HaukOwens, LLC is a different kind of law firm. We offer a combination of experience and expertise to entrepreneurs, business owners, and financial institutions who need strategic business and legal advice at reasonable rates, without sacrificing quality.
Our unique business model is based on our following core philosophies:
No Billable Hour Requirements
HaukOwens has no minimum annual billing requirement for its attorneys, thereby removing the inherent conflict between client needs and law firm profitability. Our attorneys strive to provide value to your business, by providing enlightened advice, and allowing your business to be proactive and not reactive.
HaukOwens utilizes state-of-the-art technology to assist clients located throughout the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. The firm also utilizes an independent client portal for secure communication of sensitive information.
Fee Structures That Work For Clients
Our clients can engage us on a fixed monthly retainer or project basis, which gives the client the confidence of a consistent and predictable monthly bill while removing any focus on billable hours.
Our attorneys have hands-on operating experience in various industries and previous involvement with startups and emerging companies as a founder, advisor, early-stage officer, and/or investor. We can provide practical business expertise and perspective.
Outside In-House Counsel
HaukOwens’ transactional attorneys can serve as “outside in-house” general counsel and advisor to its clients, managing day-to-day transactional work and overseeing relationships with other outside firms as needed. This enables the client to work with our attorneys as strategic partners, allowing HaukOwens to provide value-added service. This services small and medium-size businesses which allows these organizations to obtain the benefits of having an attorney on staff without incurring the overhead.
Our business law practice group handles the following matters:
- Entity Formation (Partnerships, C-Corp, S-Corp, LLC, Series LLC, LLLP’s)
- Buy-Sell Agreements
- Contract Drafting and Review
- Contract Disputes
- UCC Filings
